The reinforcement sensitivity theory is based on three brain systems:
Behavioral activation system (BAS) is linked to possitive emotions, when an individual knows there's a reward they will work harder to carry out the behavior aasosiated to it. An unbalanced BAS can lead to addictions.
Behavioral inhibition system is linked to negative emotions and it regulates avoidance, it responds to punishment.
Fight/flight system
